May 15th through August 9th 2026 Maximum Scheduled Weekly Hours 1 Job Description Summary Customer service and conference management position hired to support visiting campus guests of summer camps and conferences. The Conference Services Student Managers report to the Assistant Director for Conferences. Senior Staff will be familiar with all tasks but one particular area may be assigned to further develop an expertise and proficiency. Job Description Essential Duties 1. Customer Experience Management - Providing impeccable customer service to the various hotel guests, summer conference groups and camp attendees. Ensuring a secure and safe environment for guests. Proactively managing guest experience while they are on campus as well as reacting to issues that arise requiring solutions. 2. Conference Management - Assist with the administrative responsibilities in preparation for check in of our groups. Coordinate services with various campus partners including dining, housing, physical facilities and university police. 3. Business Management - Gaining proficiency with computer systems, including Iris Coordinator, CS Gold and Google for daily management of work. 4. Project Management - Complete assigned projects thoroughly, accurately and with efficiency . 5. Employee Management - Coordinate the activities of conference service assistants in providing service to various conference guests. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be enrolled either at Miami University or another University for the coming semester. Driver's License required. Pre-employment Motor Vehicle Use Agreement signed and Hire Right driver approval. Must successfully pass a background check. Selected students will have to pass a fingerprinted state of Ohio background check before hire. Availability for employment May 15th - August 9th 2026 Will evaluate individual applicant availability for pre-summer office work to prepare for summer business. Limited training meetings during late April, early May Prior customer service or conference experience is preferred. Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and excellent communication skills. Proven decision-making abilities and self-direction. 30-40 hours per week; shifts will vary in length from 6-8 hours Hours to include mornings, afternoons, evenings, over nights and weekends.
