Develop and execute strategies to maintain public relevance and secure funding. Recruit, train, and manage a network of volunteers and supporters. Assume full responsibility for the professional stewardship of historical artifacts, including all accessioning/deaccessioning, documentation, preventive conservation, and adherence to collections. Navigate state government structures, including procurement, compliance, records retention, and financial reporting. Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility independently. Develop and facilitate all educational programming, deliver tours, and manage visitor services. Maintain and refresh interpretive exhibits to engage diverse audiences. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Nebraska National Guard leadership, veterans, donors, educators, and community partners. Act as the primary fundraiser and brand ambassador. Other duties as assigned. Hourly pay rate range is $28.459 - $41.952 effective 7/1/2026 . Anticipated hiring date no earlier than 8/10/2026. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in history, anthropology, museum studies or other related field and experience in historical research and editing. Other: Background/motor vehicle check will be required. Must have valid driver's license. Knowledge of Nebraska history, historical events and their causes and effects on civilizations and cultures.
