About the role
Be part of the team that develops and maintains the micro-services and micro front ends that make up NAB's Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platform - a Category A Tier 1 service having near to 100% availability requirements and a multi cloud footprint. The team uses best in class technologies and practices to continuously develop, integrate and deploy cutting edge identity and authentication experiences for NAB customers. These experiences are developed with a mobile-first focus and includes digital identity, single and multi-factor authentication, biometric (fingerprint, faceprint and voice) authentication, trusted device registration, device management, credential management etc. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead, coach, and mentor senior engineers working on Customer Identity and Authentication services and applications. Attract, retain, and grow top notch engineering talent while planning and executing high quality feature work in collaboration with other squads within and outside the domain. On-time delivery of software features to Release Trains. Work with the team to define and own estimates. Track work items against a higher-level plan. Identify issues in team delivery. Responsible for the productivity of the squads, persistently monitoring delivery velocity and finding ways to continuously improve efficiency and productivity. Provide strategic input to design and quality assurance. Provide technical guidance to the team and weigh in on discussions involving strategic product direction. Evolve and improve standards and practices for development, automated testing, DevSecOps and SRE. Lead the pivot to AI enabled software development life cycle (SDLC) by driving and mentoring the team to leverage AI tools such as Cursor and AmazonQ. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Strong background in leading teams that build high volume, mission critical applications and services. Experience and commitment to building diverse, high-performing, and healthy engineering teams. Ability to generate enthusiasm, provide clarity and deliver results for your team and your broader organisation. Experience and exposure to building Java based services and applications and/or experience and exposure to building React JS based micro front ends. CD/CI experience with container-based Java micro-services and React JS micro front ends . Have in-depth understanding of microservice architecture, API management and distributed systems concepts . Knowledge and Experience in the Identity and Access Management space including relevant protocols and standards such as OAuth, OIDC, FAPI, SAML, LDAP etc . is desirable. Strong technical expertise in enterprise database/directories (eg. RDBMS, Active Directory, Oracle Unified Directory, ForgeRock OpenDJ, Ping Directory Services, eTrust/CA Directory) is desirable. Strong technical expertise in enterprise security integration (eg. TLS, PKI, Key Management, Firewalls, Networking and routing, load balancing etc) is desirable.
