Job Summary The Yard Worker (Order Picker / Forklift Operator) is responsible for the accurate, safe, and efficient handling of materials to support daily distribution centre operations. This role involves picking, staging, and loading products while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. This position primarily operates in an outdoor yard environment and may involve working in varying weather conditions. Principal Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment (including counterbalance forklifts) safely and in accordance with company policies Accurately pick, stage, and load customer orders using RF scanning systems Execute work in the prescribed sequence so deliver-by-date is met. Work proficiently to meet Productivity, Quality and Safety targets. Load/unload Flatbed and Dry Van trucks. Maintain inventory accuracy using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S (Lean) practices Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including hazard reporting Collaborate with team members to meet productivity, quality, and safety targets Perform other duties as assigned to support operations Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Safely operate various forklift equipment - specifically Counterbalance forklift (10,000lb capacity) Valid forklift certification is an asset (training may be provided) Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems is an asset Ability to read and understand work instructions in English Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Effective communication and teamwork skills Ability to work with both metric and imperial measurements Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodation) Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movements Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant's accessibility needs due to disability.
