As a Mine Services Supervisor at Hail Creek Open Cut, you will be a confident and capable leader of large teams, with strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments. Working closely with Mining Supervisors, Open Cut Examiners, Technical Services, Environmental teams, and contractors, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment while ensuring mine services activities are delivered efficiently and to plan.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate final landform construction and rehabilitation activities.
Manage site water infrastructure and water management activities, including dams, drains, sediment controls, and dewatering systems.
Oversee screening and crushing operations to ensure production and quality requirements are met.
Manage mine haul roads and associated infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operation of the mining fleet.
Coordinate and oversee mining projects and civil infrastructure works across the operation.
Supervise and instruct team members to achieve planned work outcomes, holding individuals accountable for behaviour and performance standards.
Monitor daily activities carried out by employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with site safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Ensure shift plans are effectively implemented and collaborate with other supervisors to deliver weekly operational and rehabilitation targets.
Lead by example, providing visible and credible leadership that promotes a safe, productive, and achievement-focused work environment.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in mine services activities, equipment utilisation, and work practices.
Foster strong working relationships with operational, technical, environmental, and maintenance teams to ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous supervisory experience within mining, mine services, rehabilitation, or related operations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
Experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
Sound knowledge of mine services activities, including rehabilitation, water management, road maintenance, crushing, and screening operations.
Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and environmental stewardship.
The ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a focus on achieving operational outcomes.
