Purpose of the Role The Donor Relations Associate will be a core member of the Donor Relations and Events team, supporting the Senior Director of Donor Engagement & Impact in crafting and executing annual strategies that will further donor engagement and giving. They will provide essential support in the creation and coordination of the Foundation's donor communications materials and execution of our stewardship activities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Donor Engagement & Impact, the Donor Relations Associate will work closely with the Donor Relations and Events teammates, as well as individuals across the Development operations and frontline teams. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong writing skills and attention to detail, who is highly motivated to work collaboratively in pursuit of big goals. Core Job Responsibilities Donor Communications: Support the development of donor-facing materials and identify opportunities to improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of communications with donors. Manage the Donor Relations & Events communications calendar, coordinating across the team to ensure key donor touchpoints, communications, and events are captured in a centralized location. Stewardship: Support the creation and management of systems that track and deliver donor benefits, ensuring timely and consistent stewardship. Assist in developing thoughtful donor benefits and recognition opportunities tied to the opening of the Obama Presidential Center and beyond. Work with the Donor Relations Senior Associate to coordinate donor stewardship activities. Project Management: Lead on project management and process implementation for complex donor deliverables, email sends, and stewardship activities. Cross-Team Collaboration/Liaising: Coordinate across six internal teams to ensure transparency and accuracy of upcoming events, data, and donor deliverables. Fundraising Updates: Support the drafting of fundraising updates for the Board of Directors and other principals; update these materials to reflect the latest information in Salesforce and work with the Donor Relations and Events team to tell the story of fundraising progress in a creative and exciting way. Key Deliverables / Outcomes Creating and maintaining a centralized Development calendar. Oversee the Asana request pipeline for Development Communications and Stewardship. Maintain the Donor Relations & Events team's tracking system for development communications, program statistics, and stewardship activities. Lead project management of select Donor Relations projects (e.g., Obama Presidential Center fly-through videos, card mailings, major donor stewardship gifts, etc.). Required Qualifications Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Donor orientation; experience supporting external stakeholders. Familiarity with Salesforce and Asana is preferred. The salary range for this role is between $59,755 and $74,670. This is a remote role based in Chicago.
