EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Required: -Technical Certificate and 3 year work experience with industry credentials such as ASE and/or AED or 10 years of work experience with industry credentials such as ASE and/or AED. Preferred: -Associate in Diesel equipment Technology -Associate in Automotive Technology - At least 5 years of relevant work experience ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teach assigned classes according to Board policies. Issue to students a course syllabus at the beginning of the semester and objective sheets for each unit of the course during the semester. Keep classes in session for the full scheduled time. (Classes identified in the schedule as independent study classes will meet according to requirements of the instructor.) Set aside sufficient time for student conferences, guidance, and tutorial assistance. Keep prompt, up-to-date, accurate records of attendance, grades, sign-ins and other reports. Ensure all classroom and lab space are in order everyday. Work a minimum of 35 hours each week on campus during the fall and spring semesters and complete electronic timesheet monthly. (Less than full-time contractual faculty work a proportional workweek.) Follow the required institutional process for recording student attendance and identifying "no-shows" in a timely manner. Participate in the establishment, assessment, and review of Student Learning Outcomes. Attend general faculty, division, and departmental meetings. Participate in student/teacher and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance review conferences. Meet reporting requirements of the Workforce, Career and Technical Education division of the Mississippi Community College Board. Develop a personal and professional improvement plan in those areas deemed necessary as a result of evaluations. Serve on committees as appointed. Participate in departmental meetings, formulation, execution, and evaluations of departmental goals and objectives. Cooperate in the execution of the college, division, and department policies. Recommend budgetary items and submit appropriate documentation for ordering items to the Dean's or Director's office. Participate in the selection of textbook and library materials. Participate in staff development activities, professional associations, presentations, publications, applied educational research, consulting, evaluations, and similar activities which enhance the individual and the education profession. Use teaching techniques that include the effective utilization of resources that motivate students to achieve their potential. Assume responsibility for inventory, care, and maintenance of instructional equipment and supplies. Present a personal appearance in keeping with contemporary community standards for a professional person. Maintain current credentials and certifications as required in respective field. Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate authority.
