Role Purpose
Digital PU Lead has accountability for the execution, adoption, and success of digital tools in the market. Ensures digital products are localized, widely used, and aligned with business needs to drive efficiency and growth. Collaborate with product teams and leadership to deliver business outcomes.
Accountable for execution, implementation, adoption, and commercial success of tools
Ensure tools built by Central IT are localized and adopted by customers (distributors, workshops, B2B)
Inspire change at ground level - sales teams, channel partners, distributors, and customers
Lead digital transformation by prioritising, deploying, and scaling digital products that address customer experience
Ensure alignment with IT platforms, policies, and procedures
Support deployment of global platforms while addressing market-specific commercial, regulatory, and operational needs
Provide visibility across business priorities, digital strategy, technology investment, and adoption performance
Track commercial outcomes and identify efficiency improvements
Identify digital tools required for business continuity and improved operations
Work with product and technology teams and local business leaders to ensure solutions meet market needs and align with standards
Key Accountabilities
1. Core Responsibilities
PU Gatekeeper: Reviews digital projects (e.g., automated ordering tools) and adapts them for relevance, ensuring they work optimally within market conditions.
Adoption Lead: Drive adopting tools with sales teams, mechanics, and plant teams, helping shift from manual to technology driven futuristic ways of working.
Commercial Partner: Represents 'digital' within the India PU leadership team as a contributor to business growth and performance, not only as a support function.
Local Ecosystem Manager: Builds and leads partnerships with e-commerce and B2B platforms ((e.g., Amazon, B2B marketplaces) to expand outreach and improve customer access.
2. Portfolio Leadership
Own and lead the strategic direction of the market digital product portfolio across Customer, Consumer, Sales, and Marketing.
Align market priorities with global product roadmaps and enterprise digital strategy, and commercial goals and objectives
Drive portfolio governance, investment allocation, benefits planning and future planning and prioritisation for the market
Influence global decisions by articulating market-level business value, complexities & context, and commercial imperatives
3. Local Digital Solutions and Market Needs (CCM)
Proactively identify where digital solutions can improve efficiency, unlock value for both our customers and the business, and actively support growth across all channels, including commercial, regulatory or market requirements.
Implement local solution development, integration and deployment in partnership with global architecture, engineering and digital operations and CoE teams
Ensure all local solutions adhere to enterprise technology standards, security requirements, and long-term scalability
4. Global Product Rollout
Deployment of digital products within the market, ensuring readiness, compliance and operational acceptance
Resolve cross-market or cross-functional issues that impact delivery timelines, adoption or commercial performance
Serve as the primary market interface to global product teams, influencing product strategy, sequencing and delivery approaches
5. Global Leadership Engagement
Build trusted, senior-level partnerships across business leadership, Marketing, Sales, Finance and functions
Translate market strategy and business requirements into actions for product teams
Drive leadership alignment and collaboration between the market and digital outcomes
6. Product Adoption, Value Realisation and Performance
Clear adoption and value benchmarks to ensure impact is defined & measurable.
Ensure market insight feeds directly back into the roadmap, thereby addressing realistic customer friction points and aligns with commercial business priorities.
Drive sustained adoption, optimisation and utilisation of platforms and products across the market
Define & present status on product performance, user engagement and value delivery
Identify and champion opportunities to improve customer experience, efficiency, and commercial outcomes
