About the role

Grade Level (for internal use): 10 The Role: The Associate Price Reporter/Price Reporter, Iron Ore, will be responsible for market reporting on the markets for a key steelmaking raw material as part of a larger team covering ferrous and nonferrous metals and mining markets. The market reporter will gather, test and publish price information on a real-time basis, and obtain an understanding of supply-demand fundamentals from daily interactions with primary market participants. They will also carry out price assessments based on established methodology, contribute to its development, and will write and lead insightful market commentaries, news and analysis pieces. Based in Penang, the successful candidate will work most closely with team members there, and other locations in Asia, Europe and the Americas as part of a global team. The Impact: The successful candidate will be in a position to shape coverage of markets that underpin industrialization and that are adapting to changing environmental regulations in one of the world's most dynamic growth regions. As the industry evolves toward more sophisticated pricing mechanisms, you will also witness and be reporting at the frontline of these changes. Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, and for the Price Reporter position, possess experience in metals or commodity markets in a reporting or analytical role
  • Desire to take ownership of a market in informational and source relationship terms
  • Tenacity to produce daily content in terms of price assessments, market commentaries and news stories
  • Given extensive engagement with China market participants, fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is essential.
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team-oriented, global, multi-cultural environment
  • Energy, drive and ambition to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical thinking abilities, strong sense of initiative and attention to detail
