What you will do. A glimpse in your role:
The Associate Product Manager - Payments supports the execution, evolution, and reliability of Global Blue's central back‑office payment system. This platform is a critical backbone of the Tax‑Free Shopping ecosystem, processing millions of financial transactions every year across a wide range of external payment partners - including international card schemes, virtual cards, and alternative payment methods such as Chinese wallets.
Sitting at the intersection of business rules, financial accuracy, regulatory constraints, and complex technical flows, this role works closely with the Product Manager, development teams, Business Units, and IT Operations. Embedded in a dedicated SCRUM team, the Associate Product Manager helps translate business and operational needs into clear user stories and product documentation that can be effectively delivered in an agile environment.
Over time, you will develop a strong understanding of tax‑free payment flows, dependencies, and constraints, enabling you to take increasing ownership of features and initiatives, contribute to prioritization discussions, and act as a trusted product counterpart for engineering and business stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, learning complex domains, collaborating in cross‑functional teams, and working close to real operational and financial impact.
Every action has an impact. You will make a difference here if you:
Product & delivery
Collect and clarify requirements and priority inputs from Business Units, Company Projects, and IT Operations & Support teams
Translate complex business and operational needs into clear, well‑structured user stories and acceptance criteria
Document business processes, payment flows, and integration interfaces in product documentation
Assist in maintaining and refining the Product Backlog, working closely with the Product Manager on content and priorities
Support the SCRUM team during sprints by clarifying scope, resolving open questions, and updating documentation as requirements evolve
Present business requirements and expected value during backlog refinement and sprint planning sessions
Problem solving & domain understanding
Participate in the analysis of tax‑free payment flows, incidents, edge cases, and operational workarounds
Help identify dependencies and constraints between systems, teams, and external payment partners
Growth & ownership
Contribute to gathering and documenting the voice of the customer and stakeholder feedback
Gradually take ownership of features or sub‑domains under guidance, with opportunities to grow into broader stakeholder interaction and product ownership responsibilities
Reporting & collaboration
Report to a Product Manager and work under their guidance
Work closely with a development team in an agile environment
Collaborate with Business Units, IT Operations teams, and Product / Project Management to align on requirements, priorities, and delivery
