Pay Range: $22.20 - $28.86 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Performs patient assessment and provides basic life support services to patients during both intra-facility transport and 911 assignments. Completes all patient related as well as ancillary paperwork in accordance with hospital policy. Maintains ambulance in a state of readiness for any assignment. Demonstrates safety in all aspects of daily activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalency. New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification. Non-NJ certified EMTs will be required to obtain NJ certification within one (1) year of employment. If unable to obtain NJ reciprocity it must be reported and be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Primary PA providers will be required to maintain PA EMT certifications including EMSVO. Experience: Previous EMT experience preferred. Must be 18 years old and have a non- probationary or unrestricted Drivers License. Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Drivers License, Emergency Medical Technician, Hazmat Awareness,ICS-100,ICS-200,NIMS,NIMS-700 Knowledge and Skills: Basic computer skills. Special Training: NJ EMT certification by the NREMT, or the State of New York, or any member state of the Atlantic EMS Council, including Delaware, the district of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. NJ EMT certification by the NREMT, or the State of New York, or any member state of the Atlantic EMS Council, including Delaware, the district of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responds to dispatched emergency assignments expeditiously. Maintains a state of readiness to be able to respond to an assignment within sixty seconds under most circumstances. Implements proper patient care procedures safely and rapidly by using accurate assessment skills pertaining to the illness or injury. Assures BLS procedures performed on patients are done properly using knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific patient care. Identifies and manages rapidly changing situations of an emergency patient care situation effectively.
