Reporting to the Program Director, Student Employment, this position serves as a member of the Student Employment Office within the LSU Olinde Career Center. The Manager is responsible for collaborating on the development and leading the implementation of a scalable experiential learning framework within on-campus student employment, equipping supervisors and departments with the tools and training needed to create meaningful, career-connected experiences for student employees. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE: Collaborate on the development and lead the implementation of a scalable experiential learning framework that enhances on-campus student employment into intentional, career-connected experiences. Develop training, tools, and resources that equip supervisors and departments to create high-impact student employment experiences that support student learning and Ready to Roar Career Proficiency development. Design assessment and partnership strategies that strengthen the impact and institutional value of student employment as a contributor to student success. OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPACT: Enhancing the Student Employment Experience The Student Employment Office has built an operational and compliance foundation. With this strong foundation in place, the Manager of Student Employment Development will have the opportunity to build on that infrastructure to redefine on-campus student employment as a high-impact experiential learning practice. Working collaboratively with the Program Director, the Manager will design and implement a scalable framework to influence how student employment drives career readiness, skill development, and overall student success. This framework will help student employees identify, build, and articulate career readiness gained through their on-campus employment. Elevating the Value of Student Employment The Manager will play a key role in influencing and elevating how student employment is understood, valued, and prioritized by departments and supervisors. This position will help shift the perception of student employees from workforce support to an intentional development of student growth and career readiness. Through strategic partnerships, assessment of outcomes, and campus engagement, the Manager will work to establish student employment as a recognized contributor to student success and career readiness. Building Supervisor Capacity The quality of a student's on campus work experience is directly tied to their supervisor and the role in which they function. The Manager will be instrumental in improving the quality and consistency of student employee experiences by training the trainer, developing tools, and creating a community of practice. The Manager will equip supervisors to be intentional mentors and educators to enhance student employee learning outcomes.
