Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations using sonographic skills to identify, document, and adapt examinations as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic criteria.
  • Uses independent judgment during the ultrasound exam to accurately obtain diagnostic images necessary to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings and communicates findings to the interpreting radiologist.

  • Rotating call is a requirement of the position.

Position Status: Full time Shift: First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift) (United States of America) Hours per week: 40 Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for producing two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal structures, analyzing hemodynamics, and communicating findings to the interpreting physician to assist with the diagnosis of the patient. Education Qualifications Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program through an accredited organization or on the job training in ultrasound that led to registry. Required Experience Qualifications Customer service experience. Preferred Experience in Ultrasound Preferred Experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Preferred Skills and Abilities Experience utilizing imaging equipment Licenses and Certifications Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS ARRT-Sonography or CCI-Sonography are also accepted dependent upon department. Required Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.
