Job Responsibilities: Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other hospital surfaces. Applies paints, coatings, varnishes, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment as appropriate. Matches and blends paint colors to meet hospital standards and specifications. Safely works in patient care areas while following procedures. Protects patients, staff, equipment, and furnishings using proper containment, masking, and dust control methods. Sets up and removes work areas with attention to cleanliness and infection prevention. Maintains compliance with OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, and hospital safety requirements. Performs minor drywall repairs, plastering, and surface restoration. Properly stores, labels, and disposes of paint and hazardous materials per regulations. Coordinates work schedules to minimize disruption, including evenings, nights, or weekends when required. May be required to flex regular shift times to accommodate projects and customer needs. Performs maintenance tasks as needed, including but not limited to light bulb changes, filter maintenance, cleaning, power washing, assist maintenance technicians, and other assignments as directed. Skills and Attributes: Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
