THE STARTING RATE: $27.0038/hr THE DAY-TO-DAY: Apply advance knife skills required for making sushi and other Japanese dishes Maintain menu knowledge and attention to detail of plate presentation Ensure food quality is superior and correct any irregularities Conduct inventory on a regular basis of specified food items and proper par levels Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning as well as cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas Follow recipes according to Chef specifications Notify Room Chef or Sous Chef of challenges that arise and how they have been corrected Assist with pantry and preparation areas THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Minimum 1 year of sushi preparation experience in a professional restaurant environment required. Experience preparing a variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and presentation. Previous experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment preferred. Pastry or dessert preparation experience is a plus and would be considered an added benefit.
