This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for transit technology systems, including Vontas Integrated Vehicle Logic Unit (IVLU) platforms, Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) systems such as IRMA 6 and IRMA Matrix sensors, mobile communications infrastructure utilizing Cradlepoint routers, onboard vehicle technologies, real-time passenger information systems, intelligent transportation systems, and enterprise video management platforms including Genetec Security Center. The position is responsible for supporting system integrations, monitoring system performance, managing upgrades and deployments, coordinating vendor support activities, and ensuring operational technology systems remain reliable and effective. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments. Design, configure, and support LAN/WAN architectures, VPNs, wireless systems, and firewalls. Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex hardware, software, and networking issues. Deploy, configure, and maintain end-user devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Manage endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, or JAMF for device imaging, patching, and compliance. Ensure timely provisioning, setup, and lifecycle management of all user hardware and software assets. Collaborate with IT leadership to plan and execute infrastructure and device refresh projects. Implement and maintain network and system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery processes. Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies across enterprise systems. Support and secure hybrid and cloud-based systems (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Maintain accurate documentation of systems, network configurations, and standard operating procedures. Mentor and support junior IT staff and technicians in troubleshooting and system best practices. Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
