Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
Experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background check.

Key job responsibilities
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of technicians through satellite integration operations. This individual will work closely with other launch operations and satellite manufacturing teams.
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements, designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell, supports facility and equipment planning, authors procedures, implements process controls, and supports continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical and collaborative setting and is able to interpret technical requirements and turn them into actionable steps.

A day in the life
The satellite integration Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations. They will work with other engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment. They will address root cause of failures and issues, and implement production control and optimization strategies. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances.
The satellite integration Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on handling flight hardware or lifting and rigging systems.
