Lead architectural design and project management for the Health System, overseeing all phases from pre-design through construction administration (in conjunction with Grady Construction and Project Activations Project Managers).
Coordinate with stakeholders, including hospital executives, clinicians, engineering teams, and regulatory agencies.
Manage internal and external resources, including consultants, contractors, and design partners, to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
Oversee code compliance, including IBC, NFPA, FGI Guidelines, ADA, Georgia Department of Community Health, and state health department requirements.
Lead user group meetings, facilitating clinical and administrative workflow integration into architectural design.
Monitor design quality, constructability, and performance against scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop and manage detailed work plans, fee proposals, contracts, and risk mitigation strategies.
Assist in the procurement phases of outside Design and Construction firms per Grady Health System Procurement Policies.
Utilize tools such as Trimble Unity (Ebuilder), AutoCAD, WorkDay, and Project Scheduling software (Microsoft Project), Office Suite package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Required Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field of study
Preferred: Master's Degree.
10+ years of experience in architectural practice with a focus on healthcare.
Experience with Design planning, Drawing and Drafting is highly desired.
Proven leadership in managing large, complex healthcare projects through all phases.
Deep understanding of healthcare planning, medical equipment coordination, and infection control design.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience with local regulatory processes and permitting, including the Department of Community Health (DCH), State Fire Marshal's office, and utility providers.
Familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS requirements.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
