Job Description This role is responsible for supporting the development of reactor licensing efforts and associated engagements with the U.S. NRC. This role will support portions of licensing application development and interface between internal teams (licensing, engineering, program/project management, supply chain, and procurement) and the U.S. NRC. This includes relevant topic areas of environmental law, nuclear safety, nuclear security, emergency planning, safeguards, and financial primarily applied to the X-energy reactor technology. Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities Support portions of licensing activities (certifications, permits, approvals, and licenses associated with reactor technologies) and ensure milestones are met as agreed with the U.S. NRC. Provide licensing support to engineers in developing technical requirements that will ensure compliance with NRC regulations and guidance. Support scope development of the annual regulatory engagement plan, lead regulatory audits and responses to RAI's (Requests for Additional Information). Develop licensing content to support portions of Safey Analysis Reports and licensing applications. Support planning and executing the X-energy licensing strategy. Develop regulatory white papers, technical reports, and licensing topical reports. Support development of licensing plans and associated budgets. Actively support the X-energy safety culture and ensure integration of quality in licensing processes as informed by the X-energy Quality Assurance Program. Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Job Profile Minimum Qualifications Level V: Typically, fifteen years of relevant licensing experience. Level VI: Typically twenty years of relevant licensing experience. Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (e.g. mechanical, nuclear, electrical, physics) or other related area. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with licensing activities related to cybersecurity for power reactors and/or small modular reactors. Knowledge of and application of 10 CFR Part 73 requirements. Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD Work Arrangement: 4 Days Onsite per Week Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri
