Develop detailed project plans (scope, schedule, resources, milestones, deliverables) for automatic door installations.
Coordinate pre‑installation activities: sample delivery, mockups, technical drawings, wiring and mounting details, and any interface requirements with access control/BMS/fire systems.
Confirm installation programmes, resource allocation and risk mitigation with internal teams and external subcontractors.
Execution & site management
Serve as on‑site project lead: supervise installation teams, subcontractors and vendors to ensure works meet manufacturer specifications, safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Manage daily/weekly progress, update schedules and proactively resolve site logistics or other constraints.
Ensure availability and correct handling of door operators, drives, rails, sensors, safety edges, control panels, activation devices and spares.
Technical leadership & after‑sales coordination
Provide technical guidance for automatic door systems: installation tolerances, structural supports, electrical and signal cabling, grounding, and integration with access control, fire alarm and BMS.
Supervise and mentor After‑Sales Service Engineer and Technical Support Engineer;
Oversee commissioning, functional testing, safety checks (including entrapment protection and emergency egress), final adjustments and client handovers.
Manage technical escalations to product management, manufacturers or external specialists and ensure timely remedial actions.
Cost & contract control
Manage project budgets, forecast costs, approve site expenditures within authority and report variances.
Administer contracts, change orders and variation claims in collaboration with Sales/QS and Finance; prepare supporting documentation for approvals and invoicing.
Ensure timely handover documentation to support invoicing and collections.
Quality, safety & compliance
Enforce workmanship and quality standards specific to automatic doors; perform inspections, generate punch lists and manage defect rectification.
Ensure compliance with local codes and relevant standards (including safety standards for automatic doors.)
Lead site safety briefings related to mechanical and electrical hazards associated with automatic door systems.
Stakeholder management & communication
Act as primary liaison with clients, main contractors, architects, M&E contractors, access control integrators and internal teams; keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks and decisions.
Attend site coordination meetings and client walkthroughs; represent the company professionally.
Update CRM and project management systems with progress notes, milestones, issues and outcomes.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical or control system problems in coordination with suppliers and product specialists.
Handover & close‑out
Prepare project close‑out documentation: as‑built drawings, wiring diagrams, test reports, commissioning certificates, operation & maintenance manuals and warranty documentation.
Conduct post‑project reviews, capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for installation and after‑sales processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field.
Minimum 5-8 years' experience managing installation projects involving automatic doors (sliding, swing) with proven delivery track record in Singapore.
Deep technical knowledge of automatic door hardware and systems: operators, drive trains, sensors (radar, infrared, pressure), safety edges, control logic, and typical fault modes.
Experience integrating automatic doors with access control, fire alarm and BMS systems.
Hands‑on experience supervising installation teams and coordinating subcontractors; experience leading after‑sales service teams.
Familiarity with relevant safety standards, statutory requirements and commissioning/testing procedures for automatic doors.
Proficiency with project management tools, Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Navision) for project updates and reporting.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
Willingness to perform frequent site visits and work flexible hours as required.
