2-5 years of experience in aerial utility construction as a Lead-hand or Foreperson, including oversight of multiple aerial project sites or crews simultaneously
Proven hands-on experience with aerial fibre optic cable work, including installation, lashing, splicing preparation, and pole transfers
Solid understanding of current construction practices and field concepts, practices, and procedures (including OSP)
Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes
Ability to operate industry specific equipment such as directional drills, Vac trucks, small excavators, skid steers, backhoes and road cut saws
Ability to lead and direct the work of others, including the supervision of subcontractors
Strong knowledge of construction documents (including utility plans and maps), contracts, costs, and budgets
Strong organizational and planning skills; proven experience organizing workloads, managing multiple priorities, and working with multiple deadlines
Aptitude for learning new technology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Outlook
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Familiarity with protocol and practices of large telecommunications providers in the Ontario market

Ability to read and interpret utility locates and civil construction drawings
Work Conditions:
M ust be open to occasional emergency on-call shifts during evenings and weekends, as needed.
Able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions
Willing to travel as required

Additional Information
You are a Foreperson with 2-5 years of experience in aerial Outside Plant (OSP) construction within the telecommunications industry. While primarily focused on aerial line work, you may also support underground and other utility crews as required.
You will oversee quality control, enforce safety standards, monitor project performance, and supervise field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.
On-call availability is required for emergency response outside regular working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protections on the project
Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S/OSHA Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
Supervise the installation of telecom cables (fiber or copper) on poles
Oversee lashing, splicing prep, hardware installation, and pole transfers
Ensure proper rigging and climbing techniques are followed
Coordinate bucket truck or RBD (Radial Boom Derrick) operations
Trains, supports and offers guidance to new hires
Ensures that all tailboards, MH entry permits, timesheets, drivers logbooks, and billing are handed in on time
May perform other related duties as assigned
