Minimum 5 years of hands-on compliance experience at a BaFin-regulated institution (MiFID, WpIG, KWG or equivalent)
Solid knowledge of German compliance requirements: MiFID II, AML/KYC (GwG), regulatory reporting
Experience in the role or in establishing the function of a Compliance Officer
Fluency in German and English, written and spoken
Self-directed, structured working style, suited to a lean team without a dedicated compliance department
Comfortable working in a small, international, entrepreneurial team and taking ownership of a broad range of tasks
German work permit or EU citizenship
Candidates may also have:
Legal background (degree or professional qualification) in alternative investments, capital markets law, or fund law)
Experience drafting or reviewing fund documentation and handling waiver and amendment processes
Knowledge of relevant EU frameworks: AIFMD, SFDR, ELTIF Regulation
Familiarity with fund vehicles (e.g. Luxembourg, Ireland) or cross-border EU fund distribution
Exposure to sustainable finance regulation (SFDR Article 8/9, EU Taxonomy)Knowledge of Swiss FINMA regulation (FINIG/FINMAG) is a plus, but not required

This is a permanent, 80-100% role in Germany working either remotely or based in our office in Munich . You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director of our German subsidiary as well as the group's COO.
Tasks
Serving as Compliance Officer (registered with BaFin) for the German MiFID-licensed entity, reporting to the Managing Director (Munich) and the Group COO (Zurich)
Primary point of contact for the external Compliance Consultant of the Swiss parent entity (FINMA-regulated)
Independent ownership of all compliance processes in day-to-day operations
Maintaining and developing the internal compliance framework (policies, manuals, guidelines)
KYC and AML checks for investors and business partners (German Anti-Money Laundering Act / GwG)
Planning and delivering internal compliance training
Regulatory reporting to BaFin and other relevant authorities
Coordinating and managing external regulatory and statutory audits, including preparation of required documentation and resolution of audit findings
Supporting the internal audit function by providing information, documentation and evidence as requested
Preparation and documentation of board and supervisory board meetings
Possible extended scope (not essential - depending on experience)
Contributing to the creation and updating of fund documentation (PPM, subscription agreements, constitutional documents)
Supporting waiver processes and amendment procedures for existing fund documents
Assisting with the legal structuring of new fund vehicles in coordination with external counsel
