FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Day Position Summary The Crisis Peer Specialist provides education, support and consultation to consumers and their families during the crisis intervention process throughout Pierce County. You will provide mobile outreach services to consumers through advocacy, problem solving, mentoring and promoting hope and empowerment. You will be responsible for rotating shifts on a 24/7 basis that includes evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Responsibilities: Provides expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by consumers and their families with severe mental illnesses to have a rewarding life Collaborates to promote a team culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each consumer's point of view, experiences, and preference Facilitates maximization of consumer choice, self-determination, and decision making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment Serves as a liaison with community resources, allied treatment providers, and substance abuse services. Provides education, support and consultation to consumers and families in crisis; provides support during the crisis intervention process Be a self-identified consumer of mental health services
