Adjunct Faculty, Exercise Science
Endicott College is located on the beautiful North Shore of Beverly Ma. Endicott's community is committed to ensuring the success of each student by providing top level learning experiences with expert faculty in the classroom as well as through our leading internship model.
The Exercise Science program within the School of Sport Science is seeking adjunct faculty for the following courses for the Fall 2026 semester (September 1st - December 18th). These are in-person classes and take place on campus in Beverly.
EX 200 - Nutrition (Tuesday/Thursday 8am-9:15 and 9:30-10:45)
A course designed to educate students in the scientific and applied aspects of nutrition. Students gain scientific information that enhances their ability to apply these principles in any educational or community setting. They learn the importance of nutrition in its relationship to disease, different needs throughout the life cycle, and food safety implications. Finally, students are exposed to and are able to discuss current research as it relates to nutritional concepts.
EX 379 - Semester Internship Strategies (Fridays 11-11:50am and 12-12:50pm)
This course consists of a series of eight sessions to help juniors prepare to search for and undertake the full-semester internship. The topics covered include planning strategically for the semester internship, focusing on the internship search, assessing the resume and applying for the internship, interviewing for the internship, participating in mock interviews, and making the most of the internship. Students are required to complete the course before undertaking semester internship
EX 208 - Personal and Community Health (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2-2:50pm)
Explores the psychological, emotional, spiritual, physical, behavioral, environmental and social health aspects of everyday living. Through self-assessment inventories students examine their health behaviors, identifying problems and recommending change areas in their lifestyles. Students will learn to refine their decision-making skills to help them make more educated decisions on various personal and community health problems, including drug and alcohol misuse and abuse. Students will become knowledgeable on health-related topics enabling them to become a variable educator themselves. Community health service, functions, eligibility or access are explained.
EX 480 - Semester Internship Seminar (Fridays 10:30-11:55)
A full-semester field experience, this course requires that students apply academic theories to the professional work environment. The course is planned with and supervised by faculty and site supervisors. A weekly, on-campus supervision group provides the opportunity for students to reflect upon their experiences and learning. Students will be responsible for outside reading and writing assignments designed to integrate theory and practice.
Faculty hired to teach these courses will be required to:
Fulfill the learning outcomes according to the existing syllabus, with flexibility in content and delivery as appropriate.
Abide by Endicott's academic policies
Use Canvas as the course's learning management system.
Meet deadlines for roster verification and submission of grades.
Communicate with the Faculty Lead for Exercise Science if and when issues arise concerning the teaching of the courses.
Meet with students if they request assistance or need clarification for any course-related matter.
