Operations Team Lead - Distribution Center

Requirements

• Education/Experience
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support daily operations, reporting, and workflow execution.
• Prior Team Lead or Acting Supervisor experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Working knowledge of inbound, outbound, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving operations.
• Experience reading, understanding, and applying SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Experience operating or overseeing the operation of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and conveyor systems.
• Experience leading shift handoffs and daily start up meetings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
• Skills and Abilities
• The ability to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.
• The ability to fulfill the responsibilities of a physically demanding position - constant lifting.
• The ability to consistently lift up to 50 - 75lbs.
• The ability to team-lift up to 250 lbs. occasionally
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible availability for overtime work.

General Purpose As an Operations Team Lead, you'll assist in leading and coordinating the day-to-day activities for the assigned shift, including that all resources are assigned in a manner to meet or exceed safety, quality, customer service, and cost objectives. Essential Functions Back up the Operations Supervisor in their absence. Ensure team members, including temporary employees, understand job instructions, safety requirements, and quality guidelines. Identify, document, and develop solution(s) to workflow problems and issues. Lead and coordinate all teams and/or activities for the shift to ensure safety, quality, customer expectations, and cost objectives are met. Provide the Operations Supervisor with feedback on team member performance. Report on customer service, employee safety, equipment, or facility issues to the appropriate personnel. Review daily team assignments to ensure that each team is staffed appropriately. Update and maintain the schedule to meet customer demand/expectation and/or any information tracking for reports and spreadsheets. Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
