Job Description: We have an opening for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fidelity Institutional Technology group in Galway. You will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing & implementing high-performance, secure and scalable applications to support the Fidelity Institutional business. You will also have the opportunity to grow and develop professionally within the Fidelity organisation. This role will form part of an exciting new group building innovative capabilities to support the rollout of new Digital Asset financial instruments in the Institutional market. The Expertise we're looking for Bachelors or Masters' degree in an Information Technology related field 5+ years' experience in software application design & development Desired skillset : Object oriented development experience required - primarily Java/J2EE, Spring/SpringBoot, REST Services, Cloud, CI/CD Front end experience in Angular (or other TypeScript/JavaScript languages) an advantage Experience with Agile methodologies Knowledge of test automation and test-driven development Experience or conceptional understanding of Blockchain an advantage The Purpose of your role You will be a senior member of a scrum team (made up of other software engineers, software quality engineers and systems analysts) responsible for delivering key customer features You will work closely with the product owner, scrum master, systems analysts, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity Institutional's internet experience The Skills You Bring You thrive in a team environment, collaborating openly with colleagues on shared items of work and communicating effectively You are passionate about the software development craft and have an interest and flexibility to learn and develop using the latest technologies and frameworks You promote Agile development practices & continuous improvement You enjoy resolving issues and/or identifying approaches to solutions You strive to improve engineering, architectural and coding standards You have the ability to work under minimum supervision and be a team player You possess strong communication skills (oral and written) The Value You Deliver Deliver high quality, innovative and maintainable software solutions Participate in Architecture & Application design Mentorship of junior team members Focus on customer: Demonstrate understanding of customer's business domain Continuously improve technical competency: Demonstrate knowledge and application of current technologies Model Fidelity's Values: Honesty & Integrity, Employee Respect, Quality & Excellence We are currently operating under a hybrid model, with some flexibility for remote working.
