Supervise the month-end process for financial statements and cash flow for the group - including streamlining the reporting cycle
Technical accounting research to identify appropriate accounting treatment for revenue recognition and other unique transactions
Lead and support training and cross-training initiatives within the Accounting department, including onboarding and ongoing skill development
Develop written accounting policies and procedures as needed
Monthly closing activities, including journal entry review and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations to verify transactions have been recorded properly
Comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company
Complete balance sheet flux analysis & bring issues to management attention during close
Create & document formal processes
Facilitate working sessions to define, solution, and scope projects
Own project management timelines and ensure delivery
Develop and present SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Establish practices and procedures that work towards best practices & continuous process improvement including Change Management initiatives
Responsible for Audit schedules and responses as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2+ years supervising an Accounting or Finance department
5+ years in the field of Finance or Accounting
Ability to directly supervise and mentor accounting staff with feedback and development initiatives
Proficiency in Oracle or larger ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end processes
Strong curiosity to understand processes and help drive accurate and timely results
Effective oral and written communication skills, interacting with internal and external auditors, peers, management, customers, and leadership
We Would Also Prefer:
Prior experience collaborating with international teams (particularly Mexico), with strong cross-cultural communication and relationship-building skills
