About the role The Manufacturing Engineer (Wafer Test - Supervisory Role) is responsible for managing daily wafer test manufacturing operations, supervising operators on rotating shifts, and ensuring stable, safe, and high-quality production performance. Manufacturing Operations & Shift Execution
Manage and execute daily wafer test manufacturing operations to meet output, cycle time, and quality targets
Ensure smooth production flow across shift rotations with proper handover and escalation
Monitor key manufacturing indicators (UPH, WIP, yield, downtime, retest rate) and initiate corrective actions
Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering lots, and production ramp-up activities
Coordinate with Planning, Process, Equipment, and Quality teams to minimize production interruptions
Operator Supervision & People Management
Supervise, coach, and manage wafer test operators on rotating shifts
Ensure proper manpower allocation, skill coverage, and adherence to shift rosters
Enforce compliance with SOPs, work instructions, EHS rules, and quality requirements
Conduct on-the-job training, certification follow-ups, and performance monitoring
Handle attendance, discipline, safety behavior, and people-related escalations
Yield Sustaining & Line Support
Sustain wafer test yield above designated targets through process discipline
Support timely quality release of Lots on Hold (LOH)
Coordinate LOH analysis with Process, Equipment, and Test Engineering teams
Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effectiveness
Support ICAR reduction initiatives for assigned products or packages
Continuous Improvement
Identify manufacturing losses, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
Drive initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S
Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and cycle time reduction
Execute improvement actions based on production data and shop-floor observations
Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) Projects
Support planning and execution of MVA projects to reduce Die Free Package Cost (DFPC)
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery
Track progress and report manufacturing benefits achieved
Audit & Customer Support
Support internal and customer audits related to wafer test manufacturing
Assist in customer return investigations and 8D/CAPA execution
Follow up on audit findings and ensure timely closure
Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and submit manufacturing reports (shift reports, yield, downtime, LOH)
Ensure accurate production documentation and traceability
Support development and maintenance of SOPs, WIs, Control Plans, OCAP, and SOJT
Technical Support & Collaboration
Provide manufacturing support during equipment recovery, qualification, and trials
Work closely with Process and Equipment Engineers to resolve issues
Support implementation of engineering changes on the production floor
Interface with vendors for manufacturing improvements when required
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Promote strong EHS culture and safe working practices
Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident prevention
Working Pattern
Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidaysRequirements Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field) Lean Six Sigma (LSS) or leadership certifications are an advantage 3-5 years in semiconductor manufacturing (preferably wafer test) Experience supervising operators in a shift-based environment Experience in yield sustaining, production monitoring, and manufacturing execution Background in high-volume manufacturing is preferred Technical Skills Understanding of wafer test manufacturing flow and shop-floor operations Familiar with MES systems, SPC charts, and basic yield analysis Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing and operational issues Talent acquisition based on Nexperia vacancies is not appreciated.
