The Darfur region continues to face widespread humanitarian needs due to prolonged instability, displacement, and disrupted essential services. These pressures have heavily affected access to healthcare, including sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Many facilities experience shortages of staff, supplies, and functional capacity, limiting their ability to provide services such as emergency obstetric and neonatal care, family planning, and support for survivors of gender based violence (GBV).Within this context, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) continues to support SRH programming across Darfur, working with health authorities, communities, and partners to address critical gaps, reinforce existing services, and promote safe, equitable access to essential SRH care.
The IRC is currently responding to the Emergency in Darfur regions with operational presence in West Darfur, Central Darfur and North Darfur.
