YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES JOB SUMMARY The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within Brenntag's North American lubricant market. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state environmental agencies, while driving a proactive safety culture across warehouse operations, transportation, product handling, and blending/packaging activities. The EHS Manager serves as a Brenntag subject matter expert for risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Regulatory Compliance Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and applicable state and local regulations. Maintain required permits (air, stormwater, SPCC, waste) and complete submissions such as Tier II, TRI, and hazardous waste reports. Oversee chemical management, SDS library, product stewardship, and hazard communication programs. Safety Program Leadership Lead the occupational safety programs: LOTO, confined space, hot work, machine guarding, fall protection, and industrial hygiene. Conduct and document incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Perform routine site inspections and safety audits; track findings through resolution. Facilitate monthly safety calls, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives. Environmental Management Manage hazardous waste storage, labeling, disposal, and vendor relationships. Oversee spill prevention, control, and reporting, including SPCC plan implementation. Monitor storage and handling of lubricants, additives, bulk tanks, totes, and drums for compliance with environmental standards. Training & Development Develop and deliver EHS training across the organization, including new-hire onboarding. Ensure DOT training for drivers/warehouse staff (HM-126F, HazMat, security awareness). Maintain training records and verify competency documentation. Emergency Preparedness Lead site emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with local authorities. Maintain emergency equipment: fire suppression, alarms, spill kits, eyewash/showers. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for all departments. Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing incidents, exposures, and environmental impact. Support corporate EHS initiatives, KPIs, and compliance audits. IDEAL PROFILE Professional certifications (CHMM, ASP, CSP, CET, or equivalent). Experience in chemical handling, bulk liquid storage, and flammable liquid management. Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 or Responsible Distribution programs EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 3-5+ years of EHS experience in chemical, lubricant, or industrial distribution/manufacturing. Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910, DOT HazMat requirements, and EPA hazardous waste regulations (RCRA). Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis tools, and corrective action management. Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills. Valid passport.
