The Health Systems Engineer I leads improvement projects of limited complexity for various stakeholders within the Institute. They act as a subject matter expert in improvement tools and techniques and serve as a resource to staff throughout the Institute in creating reliable, safe, and efficient processes. Works as a member of the Health Systems Improvement team within the Quality and Patient Safety department to plan and execute high priority initiatives for different stakeholders across DFCI Acts as a subject matter expert in process improvement & analytical tools and techniques In consultation with senior members of the team, selects appropriate methods and/or procedures for projects. Applies the selected methods/procedures throughout the project lifecycle Responsible for a portfolio of limited complexity projects that consist of improvement initiatives across different departments/disciplines at DFCI Applies knowledge and demonstrates process engineering expertise, especially related to the application of industrial engineering, operations research tools, change management, and techniques to execute priority initiatives Coaches project stakeholders on planning and implementing effective operational transformations, workflow support, and data capture strategies Accountable to manage their own projects of limited complexity with approved scope, schedule, and deliverables Interacts frequently with project leaders and other clinical and non-clinical staff to effectively implement process improvement initiatives Responsible for data analysis, development of findings, and recommendations in consultation with the team's senior members Creates project artifacts and deliverables, such as process flow maps, data analyses, models, and reports; concisely develops, organizes, and summarizes materials for presentations Ensures clear communication with project stakeholders and internal teammates Takes initiative to provide project support to senior members of the team and collaborates with team members In collaboration with the Senior Director/Manager, develops and delivers curriculum for staff for the improvement training programs Performs all other related duties as assigned At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong. Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $77,400.00 - $85,900.00
