UofL Dental Associates (ULDA) also known as the Faculty Private Practice Clinic, is where faculty instructors provide dental care directly to patients. This position works as a chairside dental assistant in the faculty private practice clinic located at 501 S. This position is responsible for patient coordination for m edical and dental procedures across multiple treatment locations including the management of hospital patients for surgery coordination and scheduling. Position directly supports Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery physicians with coordination of their professional time management between academic teaching, multi-office, multi-hospital and on-call scheduling. Supports/assists front office and back clinical duties, as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates internal/external appointments, medical procedures/tests, surgery clearances and surgery scheduling. Verifies medical/dental insurance coverage, obtains all required prior authorizations, treatment planning/estimates, collects patient payments and provides financial guidance. Submits charges and chart audits for billing, assists with accounts receivable and medical claims filing; assists with procedure/diagnosis coding. Validate/triage/coordinate internal and external referral sources by phone, fax, email and mail. Significant amounts of oral/written communication between all parties to exchange accurate and constantly changing information regarding the progression and quality of a patient's coordination of care. Supports/assists front office and back clinical duties, as needed. Target Compensation Maximum: $28.55 Target Compensation Minimum: $19.03 Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
