Job Summary:
This role leads and owns the Seattle, Portland and Bend markets with entrepreneurial autonomy to set and execute a growth strategy, drive client retention across segments, build and develop a high-performing team and winning culture, and contribute as a key member of the firm's 20-person national Managing Partner group.
Serving as the face of the firm in the market, the Managing Partner is accountable for personal production, team success, and broader firm impact-contributing to strategic initiatives, cultivating future leaders, and advancing Mercer's long-term growth objectives. This role is ideal for a seasoned advisor-leader who thrives at the intersection of client excellence, sales leadership, and talent development.
The Managing Partner, Market Leader embodies the firm's player/coach philosophy. This role combines hands-on client advisory and business development responsibilities with the leadership and development of a high-performing wealth management team. As both a producer and a people leader, the Managing Partner drives organic growth by acquiring new clients, deepening key relationships, and coaching advisors to deliver an exceptional client experience.
Essential Job Functions for this role include:
Design and execute on growth strategies that drive sustainable new-client acquisition with a client-centric advisory model - including identifying new sales opportunities, expanding referral pipelines, and building scalable growth mechanisms that align with the firm's strategy.
Organize and mentor Wealth Management team in the region, including regularly scheduled regional meetings, office meetings, or meetings by role. Work side by side with advisor team members to deliver client outcomes and provide feedback, coaching and leadership to ensure strong client satisfaction and retention.
Attract, develop, and retain top talent by building a high-performance team culture that enables individual growth and long-term market success.
Collaborate with dedicated client development professionals to lead the buildout of the market through custodial referral channels, centers of influence, events, and marketing strategies.
Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory policies as well as company standards of client care.
Help identify and lead the cultural integration of acquired wealth management practices.
Act as a fiduciary, placing client interests and outcomes first.
Manage region for efficient utilization of resources, staffing, operating margins and workflows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferably Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance related), Master's degree a plus
