WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
Our team focuses on two critical pillars: securing the software development lifecycle and building internal tooling that empowers engineering teams across SimCorp. We work closely with development teams to identify and address security risks at the code level, and we build the automation and utilities that make developers more effective and secure by default.
As a Software Developer on this team, you will contribute to work that directly impacts the quality and security of software shipped to clients. You will grow alongside experienced engineers in a team that values technical depth, curiosity, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Develop and maintain internal tooling and automation that improves developer productivity and security practices.
Implement and improve security controls at the development level, including vulnerability detection, code analysis, and secure coding practices.
Write clean, maintainable code following object-oriented design principles and established patterns.
Participate in code reviews, contributing to and learning from team standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver practical solutions.
Maintain and improve existing systems, including diagnosing and fixing bugs, resolving security vulnerabilities, modernizing legacy components, and adding new functionality.
Support continuous improvement of our development workflows and tooling.
WHAT WE VALUE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field; or about to complete one. Equivalent demonstrable knowledge will also be considered.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and awareness of common vulnerabilities (e.g., injection attacks, input validation, authentication weaknesses).
Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
Understanding of relational databases and the ability to write correct, efficient SQL in transactional systems.
Strong fundamentals: we value depth over breadth.
