Job Summary : For more than 150 years, MICA has provided Baltimore's young people (from kindergarten through grade 12) with a full array of classes tailored to their developmental needs and designed to inspire creativity through high-quality instructional experiences in the visual arts taught by instructors from around Maryland.. The PA position combines classroom support, before- and after-care instruction to students 5-17 years of age. They assist with daily supervision to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment throughout the summer program. This includes lesson delivery, classroom management, materials preparation, and the maintenance of program records and art supplies. The position also involves direct interaction with students and families, including greeting, pick-up and drop-off support, and responding to questions or concerns. In addition, staff help plan community-building activities and contribute to end-of-session virtual art shows and presentations while developing digital literacy and new technical skills as needed. 2026 Program Dates: Training June 15- June 18, 2026 Program Starts, June 22, Program Ends August 7. Final Clean up August 7-August 11. Work is most Mondays-Fridays, generally 8:30am-5:30pm with no weekend responsibilities. Summary of Essential Functions Assist the Site Coordinator, Program Manager and MICA Faculty in providing high-quality instructional and social experiences in visual arts and design to students aged 5 to 17 years of age. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Remain on-site for the duration of the program when the program is in session: June 16- August 8, 2025 Participate in onsite and virtual Training June 15- June 18 Choose shifts of 9am-5:30pm or 8am-4pm throughout program sessions. Manage the delivery of art and design content to youth through classroom and before and after care instruction, lead before and after care for students K-8 Assist Site Coordinator with preparation and maintenance of materials and records Greet students and families warmly, assisting with any questions or concerns Exercise classroom management, interventions, and support as needed Help prepare end of session virtual art shows and presentations Digital Literacy and willingness to learn new skills, platforms, and software as necessary Help facilitate pick-up and drop-off procedures for students and families Plan and lead community building activities and art making activities during care time Perform other related duties as assigned Maintain and Manage Art Supply Closet Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of various art or design content areas Skills with various materials and tools Ability to be flexible, patient and adapt to changing program needs
