Job Summary: In this role, you will participate in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project expediting operations. You will distribute workload, monitor assignments, evaluate production schedules and progress, and develop procedures. You will contact suppliers, initiate follow-up, monitor quality, and prepare supplier evaluations. Your planning and problem solving will ensure expediting operations meet project needs. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-RG1 Major Responsibilities: Participates in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project and area expediting operations for large sized projects Contribute to the development of the project procurement communication plan to ensure all high risk elements are quickly resolved by the correct parties Represents Expediting at project team meetings Distributes workload to assigned project expeditors according to the experience and ability of the expeditor, the degree of complexity of the work and the urgency of the need for action Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers' programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 -13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency and experience in the administration and expediting of purchase orders. Proficiency in procurement including knowledge of and skill in communicating effectively with suppliers, prequalification, knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code or applicable commercial legislation, negotiation of contracted terms and conditions, and award of commitments.
