Are you ready to move the world forward? Apply now. A Brief Summary of This Position The Plant Manager is accountable for the operations of the designated plant. The role has responsibility of directing the production/delivery activities of operations, optimizing production throughput, with efficiencies to provide lowest possible manufacturing costs, while maintaining the highest possible levels of product quality, on-time delivery, and employee safety. The Plant Manager will be responsible for strategic planning, operations planning, execution and tactical direction, budgeting and capital utilization, business expansion, new construction and all special projects as assigned. Manages through delegating authority to key functional area employees. Essential Functions This position reports into the VP of Concrete and delegates authority to key functional area employees. This role requires up to 10% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays. Lead the site's effort to be the innovative market leader by driving unsurpassed services and applications into production to meet the needs and to exceed the expectations of the customer. Participate with the Commercial team in sales and customer contact and follow-up both proactively and as necessary. Drive team engagement through regular coaching, feedback and involvement in day-to-day operations. Foster an environment of open communication. Ensure the profitability of the site by directing and monitoring activities to achieve satisfactory operation and growth performance as measured in terms of return on investment, profit margins, manufacturing and labor costs and increased sales volume. Ensure that regular, timely and job specific safety training is conducted for all plant employees, as part of a comprehensive safety program to meet all industry, federal and local safety, health and occupational standards and laws. Develop and maintain human capital capable of achieving objectives through appropriate structuring, staffing, training/developing, appraising and rewarding. Develop key employee talents necessary to obtain short- and long-range goals by effective direction, counseling, and training and success planning. Work with Human Resources to develop an organizational structure, which meets the needs of the organization and drives staffing/planning requirements. Maintain highest industry product quality standards and lead ongoing continuous improvement efforts related to quality. Ensure that production and shipment of products meet or exceeds the conformance and delivery expectations of product users and customers. Oversee preventative maintenance procedures to maintain and protect physical corporate assets. Develop and maintain a dedicated, motivated and productive workforce in partnership with the Operations Manager and key plant supervisors. Oversee production of customer project specific product designs and applications that meet or exceed all national and local structural, building, safety codes and standards. Achieve optimum plant utilization and on-time product delivery by establishing appropriate priorities and production schedules. Achieve and exceed, when possible, corporate and business unit Sales and Profit objectives. Seek and develop long-term customer relationships by meeting and exceeding customer expectations at every opportunity. Build mutual trust and understanding with all customers through open honest dialog, by ensuring that all actions taken by the company or on its behalf are consistent with company Core Values. Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Preferred Bachelors degree with 7+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 9+ years relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant experience. Seven (7) or more years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment. Extensive experience with budget and cost management. Experience using MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook). Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications B.S. in Manufacturing, Business, Technical, or related field is preferred. Prior experience as a Plant Manager of a manufacturing facility. Working knowledge
