About the role
Works under the supervision of the physician, Office Manager, RN, and LPN. The certified medical assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties including assisting the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting. Responsibilities
- Exhibits knowledge of lab procedures to include compliant use of ABNs and phlebotomy skills (if applicable). Sends specimens to correct lab. Accurately performs lab linkage, obtains pre authorizations, scheduling tests and specialist visits within network limitations.
- Follows insurance carrier guidelines and Medicare regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of ICD9 and CPT coding and seeks assistance as needed.
- Supports productivity goals to maximize use of facility resources to meet patient demand. Maximizes physician visits so that productivity targets are met.
