Position Title Cardiac Device Specialist Days - Full Time Medical Pavilion Position Summary / Career Interest: The Cardiac Device Specialist I is a member of the Cardiovascular Medicine team. The Device Specialist will be responsible for providing thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of implanted cardiac devices in the outpatient settings. The Device Specialist also triages transmissions and alerts for patients enrolled in remote monitoring. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions The Cardiac Device Specialist utilizes knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology and biomedical engineering concepts to assess technical function of the patients CIED and how diagnostic data relates to clinical picture. Utilize device and clinical knowledge to set up, operate, and troubleshoot various CIED programmers Accurately identifies malfunctions, alerts, and sub-optimal device operations and follows up appropriately with provider teams. Manage patients enrolled in remote monitoring services. Triage alerts and communicate with provider's aligned nursing team for plan of care Creates and maintains a supportive work environment for the entire team. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of respect and courtesy toward patients, staff and colleagues Maintains clinical relevance, demonstrating self-development by keeping current on a variety of clinical and health care topics Maintain 2 CEUs annually Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and Experience Bachelors Degree Engineering or Science related field Successful completion of a cardiac device rhythm management course or equivalent experience within 6 months of hire. High School Graduate 3 or more years Direct experience may substitute for Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education and Experience 2 or more years Cardiology or biomedical engineering experience Required Licensure and Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 Days Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 Days Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to various outreach clinics Time Type: Full time Job Requisition ID: R-54488 Important information for you to know as you apply: The health system is an equal employment opportunity employer.
