World Vision International Lao PDR is recruiting an Agriculture Coordinator for the multi-year "Sustainable Agriculture for Nutrition (SUAN)" project in Salavane Province. Funded by the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the project is implemented in collaboration with the Provincial and District Agriculture and Environment Office. The project aims to improve nutrition and food security of 1,975 households (8,334 people) in 3 districts (Toumlarn, Vapi and Lakhonpheng), 18 villages (6 villages per districts) in Salavane province, particularly vulnerable women and children under five, through sustainable and nutrition-sensitive climate smart agriculture (NS-CSA) intervention, as well as childcare, GEDSI and hygiene practices. Key project outcomes are: Improved access to sufficient and diverse foods year-round Improved dietary & care practices among Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) (15-45 years) & Children Under Five (CU5) Improved Gender Equity and Disability Inclusion (GEDSI) for increased participation in nutrition-sensitive, climate-smart agriculture The role focuses on overall planning and coordination of agricultural activities, working closely with the SUAN project team and the District Agriculture and Environment Office for sound technical activities implementation in target areas The responsibilities of the position include: Support the planning and implementation of project activities in collaboration with district authorities and partners, in line with project plans. Work closely with DAEO staff and the project team to develop and follow work plans. Support implementation of nutrition-sensitive agriculture activities to improve food security and household nutrition. Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to project documentation. Participate in meetings, workshops, and coordination activities as required. Promote gender equality and disability inclusion, and participation of vulnerable groups in all project activities. Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Communication Support effective project monitoring, reporting, and communication systems. Ensure timely and quality data collection and submission. Meet reporting requirements and proactively communicate any issues or delays to support project delivery. Building relationships and implementation within communities. Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with communities, local authorities, and partners, reflecting World Vision's mission and values. Ensure close and effective collaboration with government counterparts, particularly district offices, to support coordinated planning and smooth project implementation. Foster open communication and trust with partners to strengthen joint ownership and alignment throughout project delivery. Policies compliance Plan and implement project activities in the target district, ensuring alignment with project plans, policies, and donor requirements. Ensure compliance with project standards, World Vision policies, and grant requirements. Support community engagement and capacity building to promote sustainable outcomes and local ownership. Ensure adherence to World Vision's safeguarding, child protection, and code of conduct policies in all project activities Knowledge, Skills and Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., agriculture, rural development, livestock, or social sciences). At least 2-3 years of experience in community-based development, preferably in agriculture or livelihoods. Experience working with local government partners and community groups. Posses good skills in training, facilitation, and community engagement with proven experience in field implementation and monitoring Fluency in Lao is required; knowledge of a local ethnic language (e.g., Kathang) is an advantage. Good reporting and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and travel regularly to target villages. Willingness to stay overnight in target communities when required. Motorcycle driving license required.
