Te tūranga - The role Lead the delivery of protective security solut ions across a complex pro ject environment. You'll manage the day ‑ to ‑ day progression of the project security workstream, ensuring design and operational outcomes align with evolving threats, agreed national and international standards, and NZ Government protective security requirements. This includes overseeing decision s on security systems and services procurement, ensuring the quality and integrity of security deliverables, and supporting the development of robust, fit ‑ for ‑ purpose security solutions. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll manage risks, provide regular reporting, and ensure strong alignment across workstreams. You'll also play a key role in building effective relationships, promoting security best practice, and driving successful programme outcomes. This is a fixed term position until September 2027. Ō pūkenga - About you To succeed in this role, you will bring: 5+ years hands on experience with all the domains of the Protective Security Requirements including PHYSEC, PERSEC, GOVSEC as well as INFOSEC. A relevant tertiary, technical or industry qualification. Relevant recent experience in leading? S upporting ? security project s A thorough understanding of the Government's Protective Security Requirements, particularly relating to the physical and information security lifecycle, including able to identify and assess threats to an organisation's assets across the threat-spectrum. Able to identify associated risks and impacts and provide best-practice advice regarding reasonably practicable mitigations to ensure a safe and secure working environment and to enable business activity. Strong analytical skills and a practical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on outcomes, prioritisation, detail, and quality, Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen effectively, lead and coordinate projects, and contribute actively within teams and working groups. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NZ National Security Clearance at SECRET level. Sound judgement and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues. Demonstrates knowledge and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
