Job summary: Reporting to the Global IT Network Manager, the IT Network L2 Engineer is responsible for the operation, administration, and continuous improvement of gategroup's enterprise network infrastructure at global scale, including LAN, MAN, WAN, partner connectivity, and wireless environments. This role requires proven hands-on experience in managing and supporting complex, geographically distributed networks, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with L3 Network Engineers, infrastructure teams, and application owners to troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues, contribute to ongoing improvements, and support the delivery of stable and scalable network services. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Administration, support and maintenance of networks including LAN, MAN, Wi-Fi, WAN, SD wan & Partner connects Administration, support and maintenance of a Zero Trust Network in a versatile and highly dynamic, global environment Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with gategroup's security team Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate 2nd level networking issues to other employees. Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring, maintenance, capacity management and lifecycle management, ensure runbooks are up to dated. Ensure compliance, compatibility, security, and optimized integration between solutions in our landscape Support the Infrastructure cloud team with cloud network solutions Contributor to disaster recovery planning and execution Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to gategroup's digital footprint Participation on an on-call rotation for a 7-day period (10pm - 8am during weekdays and one weekend) should be expected every 4 weeks. Core Competencies and Requirements : Bachelor's degree in information technology 3 years + working experience in a Network engineer role 5 years + in an IT infrastructure role Work experience in a large multinational, matrix structured company Expert knowledge of core routing and switching, network design principles, best practices, and related technologies Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation Proven experience with network planning, network security principles Excellent English skills. Any other major European Language preferred but not required. Experience with Cloud network design (Microsoft Azure & AWS).
