RnD Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, enclosures and systems using CAD tools, including case parts, and mechanisms.
• Perform critical design analyses such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), form/fit/function, Safety, reliability, and tolerance stack-up studies.
• Utilize simulation software to conduct dynamic analyses and explore various configurations to optimize mechanical performance and efficiency.
• Develop and refine prototypes based on simulation results and conceptual designs, applying creative and innovative approaches.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical design and development, detailed project requirements, mechanical specifications, and performance objectives.
• Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of prototypes to ensure stability, reliability, and compliance with design standards.
• Managing and executing experiment to characterize and validate design performance
• Using data analysis to drive design improvement and issue resolution
• Participate as a member of project team to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for low to moderately- complex products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design or research and development (R&D).
• Proficient in using Creo (or equivalent 3D CAD software) as a primary mechanical design tool for complex component modeling.
• Proven track record in designing sheet metal and plastic parts, with a strong understanding of their associated production tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Experienced in utilizing CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation software and building physical thermal mockups to validate and optimize thermal solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose design flaws, interpret data, and drive continuous design improvements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently present design proposals, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and negotiate design options with stakeholders.
