Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Package and Rotating Engineer to join the Discipline Engineering team. Reporting to the Discipline Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Topsides Package Engineering
  • Act as the package engineer for assigned topsides equipment and systems, such as compressors packages and pumps packages driven by gas turbines or electric motor, generators, air compressor packages, firefighting pumps, sea water lift pumps, WHRU and packaged skids.
  • Develop and maintain equipment datasheets, specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate vendor package design to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and interface requirements.
  • Manage vendor data review, 3D model review on vendor packages, including drawings, calculations, procedures, and manuals.
  • Ensure proper integration of packages into the topsides layout, including access, maintenance, material handling, constructability, lifting, and weight management.
  • Rotating Machinery Engineering
  • Provide technical leadership for rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, gearboxes, motors, etc.)
  • Review and approve machinery designs, performance curves, data sheets, dynamic simulations, lateral and torsional vibration reports, and mechanical integrity documentation.
  • Support machinery selection and sizing in collaboration with process and operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO and project‑specific specifications).
  • Support machinery reliability, availability, and maintainability objectives throughout design and execution.
  • Package & Interface Management
  • Act as technical focal point for assigned piping systems and static equipment packages.
  • Manage interfaces with process, mechanical, structural, E&I, and controls disciplines to ensure integrated topsides design.
  • Support resolution of technical queries, deviations, and non‑conformances related to package equipment.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university
  • Project design experience purchasing typical mechanical packages for offshore facilities
  • Field experience in rotating machinery
  • Knowledge of API/ASME/ISO codes and standards applicable to the specialty

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the design and commissioning of offshore facilities
  • Experience supporting offshore topsides facilities (FPSOs, TLPs, spars, semi‑subs, fixed platforms).
  • Exposure to multiple project phases including FEED, detailed design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, fabrication yards, and offshore construction teams.
  • Advanced experience with topsides piping systems, including process, utility, relief, and support piping.
  • Familiarity with piping material classes, valve specifications, and line list development.
  • Experience supporting or reviewing pipe stress analysis, supports, AIV/FIV/FIT and flexibility assessments.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion, erosion, metallurgy selection, and piping integrity considerations for offshore service.
  • Experience coordination 3D model reviews
  • Experience with static equipment such as pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers, tanks, scrubbers, filters, dehydration plants, sewater treament systems, produced water, hypochlorite, potable water , HVAC, utility systems
  • Familiarity with equipment datasheets, technical requisitions, and vendor data review.
  • Experience interpreting vendor calculations and drawings in accordance with ASME/API and project specifications.
