JOB SUMMARY
The School of Education invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2026. Applicants with expertise in K-12 teaching, leadership, curriculum development, pedagogy, special education, and social justice issues are encouraged to apply. Faculty in t he School of Education are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and the community.
The School prepares quality educators and leaders for elementary, secondary, and post-secondary positions. The School offers online programs preparing professionals for leadership at master's and doctoral levels.

This is an in-person position, and remote work is not a component of the role. Faculty are expected to maintain a consistent on-campus presence and be physically present several days per week to support teaching, student engagement, and participation in School and University activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting and integrating the mission and core values of Marymount University and Academic Affairs.
Assuming teaching responsibilities as assigned by the Director of the School and as outlined in the Marymount Faculty Handbook.
Maintaining office hours at times which provide appropriate access to students.
Advising assigned student advisees with program and licensure requirements and career information.
OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Assuming professional responsibilities as requested by the College Dean or School Director.
Engaging in on-going professional development which will include scholarship activities such as research, presentations, and participation with professional organizations.
Contributing to the University and School program functions and services, including assessment, and continuous improvement activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in special education, educational leadership or related field and K-12 school teaching experience.
