About the role
The incumbent serves as a Secretary to the Medical Center Pentad member assigned to direct the activities of clinical services and programs of this tertiary care facility at Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. For GS-8: Possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience to perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been gained to at least the equivalent of the next lower grade level of (GS-7) in Federal service. Specialized experience is possessing administrative concepts, principles and practices sufficient to perform independent duties involving elimination conflict and duplication of work, determining when new procedures are needed, studying and evaluating office equipment, and recommending restructuring of clerical activities in the office and subordinate offices. TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
