As part of the SS&C GlobeOp division, the Australian tax service team sits within the Global Tax team, which consists of over 150 tax specialists across 12 jurisdictions. The size of the Global Tax team continues to grow as the company expands its global footprint.
The Global Head of Tax is based in the USA, who oversees the Australian tax operation through his direct report, the Head of Australian Tax. The Global Tax team has responsibility for producing/lodging accurate tax reporting and tax returns for alternative fund clients in each region.
The Global Head of Tax also manages and develops an advanced tax system called Tax BrightLine in USA. Eventually, this software will roll out to other regions under SS&C's administration.

What You Will Get To Do:
The Fund Tax Accountant is a newly created offshore Australian Tax role based in Malaysia, established to support the Australian Tax team in delivering high-quality day-to-day tax compliance services across alternative fund clients. Working within a growing and collaborative team, the role will assist with tax compliance deliverables, operational processes, client transitions, and project-related initiatives supporting the broader Tax Services function.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong willingness to learn and develop within fund tax services. Responsibilities include preparing straightforward tax compliance calculations and returns, supporting process testing and template maintenance, enhancing standard operating procedures, and assisting with client onboarding, transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong customer service mindset, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a positive "can-do" attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where client satisfaction is a key priority.
Accurate and timely delivery of tax reporting deliverables.
Preparation of tax compliance calculations, including but not limited to BAS returns, investor statements, AIIR, IAS, QTF and some simple tax distribution calculations.
Assist in drafting tax policies and procedures for tax risk control purposes.
Assist in attending and responding to client queries.
Adherence to operational compliance and risk policies.
Assist in the completion of projects, including testing tax templates.
