About KIND Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is a global leader in the protection of unaccompanied and separated children who are forcibly displaced from their countries of origin. Launched in 2008, KIND champions a world in which every child's rights and well-being are protected throughout their journey to safety. Building on its extensive programming and successful model in the United States, KIND is expanding in the Americas and Europe to bring its experience to bear in working with unaccompanied and separated children. Our work focuses on addressing the legal and mental health needs of this population; building strong partnerships and engaging in training and capacity strengthening with governments, NGOs, and the private sector; and advocating for systemic and pragmatic reforms to advance the rights of unaccompanied and separated children. Position Summary KIND seeks a Communications Coordinator, Europe to develop and lead KIND's communications strategy throughout Europe and promote KIND as a leading, mission-driven organization in the protection of unaccompanied and separated children. The Communications Coordinator, Europe, will drive KIND's brand and messaging, ensuring our programs and success are communicated effectively and consistently to intended audiences. Based out of KIND's headquarters in Brussels and working closely with KIND's team in Europe and the Global Communications Team based in the United States, the Communications Coordinator will play a crucial role in KIND's Europe-focused leadership team, advising, overseeing, and implementing strategic engagement, including setting communications priorities for funding proposals, creating communications campaigns to advance specific objectives, curating client storytelling content, and developing materials and assets that advance the organization's mission throughout Europe. The Coordinator will keep the Global Communications Team, apprised of KIND's work in Europe, coordinating work flows as needed, and ensure that all communications align with KIND's policies, brand guidelines, and goals globally. The Coordinator will be committed to KIND's mission and have experience of providing communication support within a not-for-profit organization. Under KIND's matrix management model, the Communications Coordinator, Europe, reports to the Vice President, Communications and Public Engagement and to the Senior Vice President and Regional Director, Europe. This position is based in Brussels, Belgium. The candidate must possess legal authorization to work in Belgium. This role is full-time, but will consider candidates who are available part-time. Travel required within Europe with occasional international/overseas travel.
