Description of Work Registered Nurse position will perform specialized nursing and medical treatment and deliver care to developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals, many of whom are also medically fragile. This position carries out nursing care plans based on the diagnoses and pertinent medical information, and individual needs. The Registered nurse will independently carry out the nursing care process and will set up an environment to assist individuals in obtaining the maximum level of functioning and/or recovery. They will administer medication, participate in interdisciplinary team process, assist in coordinating care for the individuals, and work closely with the medical doctors, psychologist, social worker, recreational therapist, dietician, and other professionals to assist the individual in meeting their maximum potential for independence and function while providing the best quality of life possible. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $70,000 - $85,000 *A Limited Sign-on bonus of $35,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting who apply between June 1st - August 31st, 2026, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. Total $35,000 $15,000 in first paycheck after start date. $10,000 after 12 months of service. $10,000 after 18 months of service. Shift Premiums: Day: Saturday and Sunday 10% Evening: Monday-Friday 20%, Saturday, and Sunday 30% Night: Friday-Sunday 30%, Monday-Thursday 20% *Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
