The Pronunciation Specialist will plan, prepare, and facilitate pronunciation workshops for students participating in the English Immersion Summer Program (EISP).
Responsibilities include:
Planning, preparing, and conducting pronunciation workshops for student groups.
Carrying out appropriate assessments and providing detailed feedback to students.
Teaching one two-hour workshop per week for each section, according to the program schedule.
Attending planning meetings with the Program Coordinator, as required.
Working closely with the Program Coordinator to modify and adapt workshop content according to the needs of each group.
Collaborating with other EISP instructors and staff to create a dynamic, positive, and memorable learning experience for students.
Hours: 12 hours total teaching two weekly sessions on Wednesdays:
9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Requirements
Teaching Ed. Level
Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language or Applied Linguistics or equivalent
Teaching Experience
Recent and significant* experience teaching English as a Second Language in a post-secondary and multicultural context
Experience teaching English as a Second Language at various levels.
Applicants' knowledge of the English language may be tested.
